Do you care if GTA6 jacks up the base price of games to $90 - $100?

Tbh I no longer buy games full price. I'm patient. In due time you can buy games you want to play at 70-90% less of its og price.

Recently I bought 4 PS5 games for less than the cost of one full priced game.

Devs can raise their prices all they want, they'll never see €80 from me for their one game

They can charge whatever they want.... Seriously. I'll still wait for my price or I won't play the game. Very few experiences feel new and fresh and the ones that do are usually cheaper indie titles... Easy pass on games at 60... Easy pass on games at 70.... Even easier at 100....

I almost never buy at launch these days, so not a big thing for me. For GTA 6 I'll probably wait for PC version regardless. That kb/m goodness!

I honestly think games are pretty cheap and they have not kept up with inflation as some other commodities. I mean you could go to a faily mid restaurant in Sweden, eat a steak, drink some beer, have a desert and the bill is not that far from a AAA game, which is absurd imo.

I'm waiting for the PC version, so it wont be that much lol.

Yeah I definitely care. Games are already $90 here in Canada. With the 13% tax the total is slightly over $100. Certainly don’t want that price to go any higher. If GTA 6 pushes it then others will follow suit. Could say that I’ll just wait for a sale but then that “sale” price would likely just be the current price.

I’m hyped for GTA 6 but if they raise the price then **** them. They can go eat a ****.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC UK) launched at £54.99, and they actually upped the price to £59.99. This as released in 2019.

For context, games prior to this were around £44/49.

Stalker 2 for example is priced at £49.99.

I'd rather they not, but publishers give zero fuks about anyone with my spending habbits. I only buy games years later on a steep discount.

Of course I care. Gaming is already an expensive hobby.

Don’t care much tbh. Few games these days I care enough to buy at launch and those that I want I won’t care about the price! Luckily GTA6 isn’t one of them.. But yeah 100$ for a game feels wrong though

You should watch Throne Of Blood, really good. Though maybe abit too cultured for SW (black and white/subs), very artistical.

Sure.... it could mean fewer games hitting the cheap prices I like to buy them at or taking longer to get there.

I've also seen a number pretty old games that used to get steep discounts , no longer hit the same prices they used to (Konami, Fromsoftware )

What if...GTA6 was bundle with PS5 Pro and costing $600 maybe? That would be a much better value for the money than buying it alone if it cost $100.

@Pedro: If I'm gonna be honest about it. I can see PS5 Pro/GTA6 bundle for $700...at least. Paying just the standard GTA6 for $100 is really pushing it if you ask me. Word on the street is Sony is trying to talk with Take-Two on exclusive deal. The Pro is gonna need a flagship, GTA6 seems logical.

At that price point, there is no additional burn to Sony. I don't see how Sony can pull off the cost GTA6 being exclusive but they did buy Bungie.😏

Even though I rarely buy games at full price, when they start from a higher starting point it will take longer to reduce in sales to a value that's more affordable.

sony sells their games for £69.99 here ($92) and have done since the ps5 launch in 2020. going up to $100 is only a few quid extra, can't see it ruffling too many feathers.

i've never paid £69.99 for a game. can't say i wouldn't be tempted if gta6 sp reviews well which it almost certainly will. if it's anymore though then i will pass on it. probably.

doesn't necessarily mean every other publisher will jump on the hike prices bandwagon as well, not really seen that so far this gen. elden ring launched at £44.99 in 2022, only a few weeks after forbidden west launched at £69.99
