space marine 2 video game komes out ‘n 5 days!! 5 days!! looks ta be a smash'n time uv guts an broken spines. Are yer 'cited ta krush 'da bug skulls an' rip dere puny arms into tiny pieces! look really gud! best fing ever!

‘n da distant future uv warhamma 40k, a dogmatic 'umie civilization iz unda siege from all sides, fight'n' off armiez uv hostile aliens (commonly referred ta as xenos) an terrible supernatural forces. It's grand an’ gritty ‘n equal measure, an’ despite ‘da many franchises it's influenced ova ‘da years, 'der's noth'n quite like it. Space marine put playaz inside da armor uv kaptain titus, a memba uv da legendary ultramarines as 'e an’ his men fight against da orks an’ chaos forces. Titus iz back for 'da sequel, but 'da hideous, insectoid tyranids are 'da main antagonists dis time around.

I am very hyped for this game, not going to lie. I really hope they don't try to hard with gimmicks and doing new stuff and just give us something really fun and simple and yet with depth to keep us playing.

I hope in some respects they do a "Diablo-type thing", in so many words, and make a good sort of end-game mechanic where we can just slaughter hordes of enemies and get some good loot. I know it's not that type of game, but I think it'd be a lot of fun to have some sort of thing like that.

What I am less hyped about is how Focus and/or Games Workshop will probably release an ungodly amount of DLC for this game and charge $15 for every piece of it, and it's going to be mostly cosmetic stuff or things that should have come with the base game, or things that should be saved more more significant, comprehensive expansion-type DLC (as opposed to just doling it out piecemeal).

It won't stop me from enjoying the game (didn't stop me from enjoying Warhammer Total War, at least), however.

My action game/shooter hype list is, in no particular order:

• STALKER 2
• DOOM
• SPACE MARINE 2

those 3 shooters are my most hype too. for a first time in years I'm excited for multiple games

Hyped but not hyped enough to splurge on the more expensive editions for early access. Probably get this when it comes out. Hopefully it's in good working order and not rushed. I thought I heard they wanted to do more testing before release but they were cutting it close.

Yes, I'm just glad this game is totally not unaffected by the...well, you get the idea. Nevertheless, this is a day one purchase on PC.

I'm going to risk disapointing myself by predicting a 9 for this one 😁! Looks awesome! It has the Doom vibe a little bit, but totally different gameplay style of course.

When he said (paraphrasing) "Space Marine 2 is everything Darktide was supposed to be at launch, with x, y, and z" it just made me sooooo happy.

This has to be best third person shooter since long time.

proper old school third person shooter with no cover system and no regen health. and especially no woken elements found in modern games.

This and STALKER 2 are going to make late 2024 excellent year. also through Silent hill 2, MGS3 remake, Indiana jones too.

I’ve been stoked for this release for a long time. Fortunately I have a few days off work after it comes out so I can really get into it. I imagine it will score well with the reviewers from what I’ve seen so far.

I only found out about this game a few days ago thanks to Ghost (never thought i'd say that) and from the 3min video I saw of it I will most likely buy it.

As for score, well its lamespot, so it could go either way with them, but I will say they will give it a 7.

IP has been going since the 80's with that over the top character design and has only got more popular in that time, so you might not like it but there are clearly enough people out there who do. The marines have always been OTT but the nids are very H.R. Giger, or Tau for mech style things, or Orks for ramschackle design, necrons for eldritch terminators etc. etc. basically if you explore the 40K IP there will be something you like aesthetics wise.

Looking forward to this game. Graphically looks amazing as well.

Folks can like all sorts of stuff. Just calling it as I see it. The marines are quite an eyesore (like Gears but worse). Tyranids and Orks are within spec and the T'au is just a bit better. There is a definitely chance that I will find something that is aesthetically appealing within the scope of the entire IP.

I was excited at first, but the more I see the more generic it looks. I'll probably wait for reviews and user videos before making a decision.

I see negatives being short, little replay ability, and repetitive. But should be a fun single player experience worth maybe a couple of playthroughs, especially co-op

I'm starting to get urge against my greater principles to splurge the extra $30 for early access. Mostly because that means I can jump in right when I have 3 days off and I can spend that time playing this. Plus I can knock $25 off that with my Xbox Rewards. Otherwise it releases in the middle of my work week and I won't have time to really play it, and I'm busy the next time I have time off work. So... I'm weak. Be playing this Thursday morning for sure!

The short campaign means I won't be paying full price for this one. 60 bucks for a 10 hours campaign.....not ideal. Looks like a great campaign though. 35-40 bucks and I'm in.

Looks like it turned out pretty well. I have no plans on picking it up anytime soon, too many other games I’m interested in for the next while, but wouldn’t mind checking it out in the future someday.

It's actually outstanding characters design that has inspired everything from Halo, Gears of War and Starcraft.

Good news is most agree hence why it won't become a massive commercial flop like games made to pander to you 🤣.
