The SteelSeries GameDAC is a simple device that boosts the quality and clarity of your headset's audio.

Even with a Prime Day discount, some of the best headsets might be a tad unaffordable. The good news is that with a handy piece of pocket-sized hardware, you can make your headset sound even better, as the SteelSeries GameDAC Gen 2 is on sale for $80 (was $100). This is a nice discount of 20%, and if you have a SteelSeries headset already, this will elevate your audio experience.

So what does a GameDAC do? This is a Digital to Analog Converter, which are devices that use high-precision components to filter out audio distortion caused by the digital audio conversion process. The GameDAC creates a cleaner and clearer conversion process, and thus better audio quality. This model has a signal-to-noise ratio of 111dB, so you get high-resolution audio through a simple plug-and-play add-on. While the Gen 2 GameDAC is designed for the Arctis Nova Pro, it'll work fine with any headset wired via a 3.5mm cable.

There are two versions available, both for $80. The Gen 2 GameDAC for Xbox also works on all other gaming platforms, so it's worth getting for that extra bit of versatility, while the other Gen 2 GameDAC isn't Xbox-compatible but can still be used on PlayStation and Switch. If the first option sells out, grab the second one if you're not planning to play on Xbox. It's also worth mentioning that the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro headsets come with their own GameDAC and they're on sale for $190 during Prime Day.

Alternatively, you can check out the specials on all the other SteelSeries headsets on sale right now, and grab the GameDAC as part of your purchase to get an audiophile-level listening experience.
